MANIFEST Technology Partners with TechServe Alliance for 2017 Legislative Conference on Capitol Hill

MANIFEST Managing Partner, Brigitte O`Brien-Nesser Lobbies on Capitol Hill

Washington DC, May 30, 2017 – MANIFEST Technology Managing Partner, Brigitte O’Brien-Nesser joined fellow TechServe Alliance members to lobby on Capitol Hill this past week. Dedicated to shaping public policy initiatives affecting the Information Technology & Engineering Staffing and Solutions Industry, this association of concerned professionals came together on May 23rd and 24th to advocate for legislation that fosters equitable, educationally driven, and future-focused initiatives to support a sustainable industry growth.

Organized by TechServe Alliance’s Government Affairs Division, the 2017 Lobby Day was the focal point of the 2017 TechServe Legislative Conference. An active member of the Alliance, Brigitte met with several Senate and House leaders including our own Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken’s Congressional Staff, to discuss the industry’s most pressing issues and the impact that pending legislation will have in shaping industry practices.

TechServe lobbyists aimed to provide leaders with a comprehensive understanding of crucial issues while actively requesting legislative support solutions such as; increasing resources for STEM Education & Training Programs, support for non-discriminatory access to the H-1B Visa program for US-based firms, and restoring equitable protections and guidance for both Technology Firms and Independent Consultants under the “Safe Harbor” and Tax Reform Act provisions.

Grateful for the opportunity to unite with fellow industry leaders in support of the overall health, advancement and ethics of the industry, Brigitte was honored to lend her voice to advocate on behalf of our clients, consultants, suppliers and partners. Together, we look forward to a bright future for Information Technological and Engineering Services.

“It was a special experience to work together with senior members of other consulting firms from around the U.S. for the good of the IT services industry.  I felt a strong sense of camaraderie due to our common goal of educating representatives as to how our simple agenda would actually help the economy, thus creating and keeping jobs here in the U.S… this was something we could all be passionate about.” ~Brigitte O’Brien-Nesser, MANIFEST Technology Managing Partner
